The etchings of the Canalbook from Caspar Philips (1771) are projected in front of the current canal facades, which makes visible what has changed during the past centuries. The figures that walk around in the Herengracht come from 17th century etchings of Rembrandt and Romeyn de Hooghe. Also we see characters from works of Cornelis Springer and Adrianus Eversen from the 19th century. To conclude the history, Alice also uses current inhabitants from photographs she took on the streets of Amsterdam herself.
